What happened to the back button after jellybean? When I used to switch between apps, the back button would switch to the previous apps I had opened after I backed as far as I could within the app. Now it goes to the home screen.

I think they considered that a bug. (I know I did).

I believe the back button logic now functions as follows:

-Close any overlays. Keyboards, menus, etc.

-Back to previous screen within app. For example going from settings in Gmail to the inbox.

-Back to a previous app if you opened the current app from within the previous one. Such as opening YouTube from within Google+.

-If none of those are applicable, return to homescreen.

I see........I was kind of used to the old way. I'll just hold down the home key to switch between apps

I was going to suggest that too. My post above was just my thoughts since I noticed the same thing.
