Malware???

I have an HD razor maxx, Ive been getting popups while using chrome. I currently have the following apps installed: (Flashlight, Instructables, PuzzleQuest, theChive, VLC Direct ProFree). I have cleared my cache, and checked my phone with Malwarebytes, AVG, Sophos, and Lookout. I even installed adblock plus and it did not stop these. Ive got android SDK and DDMS, and have been looking through the logs but dont see anything glaring (but i really dont know what to look for). There is no "network" app that looks like a wifi signal. These popups are getting rediculous, only happen in chrome and NOT my notification bar. What should I be doing to look for the cause of the problem. I really dont want to reset my phone (for stupid purposes ( I dont want to lose my gamedata in PuzzleQuest) My phone is not rooted, I have not allowed attachments from unknown sources with the exception of adblock (and i verified it was the correct source). Any help would be appreciated.

I also reset my router, updated its firmware and double checked that my router didnt have any DNS settings put into it that shouldnt belong.

I use Chrome as well and never experienced any popups like the ones you have posted. Did this start recently or has it always been this way?
Something is causing it and my gut tells me it's an app.

Its been happening for the past couple days. I havnt installed any apps recently and NEVER install apps from outside the play store. Is there any way to root out what app could be causing it, or to rule out apps?

Chrome was updated a few days ago. I believe it was June 6th. By any chance did this start around that time?

Im not sure exactly, I was moving the past week, but it is a pretty good timeframe for it. I would go with yes. Maybe uninstall updates, then re-update and see if it fixes it?

I would give that a shot. After you uninstall the update reboot your phone and see if the issue goes away.

Dumped Chrome cache, data, and updates, resetting phone. Ill update with any changes.

Reset the chrome updates, and have not seen any problems as of yet, been a day now. Ill update again if I see anything. Thanks again for the help. Any idea what could cause chrome update to be hijacked??

I have been experiencing problems with chrome slow downs, freezes and finally a total lockup. Soft restart,
Unistalled updates and will now empty cache and data then I will re update. Will edit after I see how it goes.

So after a few days of no problems whatsoever I happen to be on some memebase website, i think failbook and I got the popup from mt.moneyandroid.com so I stopped, checked everything, deleted my cache and went back to the same page and got the popup again. I think whatever I had may have started from internet popups. Uninstalled updates again, and switched to firefox, with the addons AD block plus (which i may uninstall, it doesnt seem to do anything) and a cookie eraser.

This is just Internet spam. My pop up blocker sometimes stops it.. Sometimes not..

It's nothing to worry about.. Just close it out and carry on..

This time i believe it was just internet spam, originally when I posted it was so frequent, and on so many websites and it would "clickjack" (right word??) and go to spam websites whenever I clicked a link. It was annoying, and slightly disconcerting. Its just funny that on failbook, and artoftrolling I was getting a high instance of android related malicious ads, especially some that I was getting while there was something wrong with my phone. Leads me to believe my problem may have originated from their websites. Needless to say, i avoid their whole index now
