Today my phone beeped and I thought I had a text message. Instead there was a notification with a star next to it about "Autopilot." Then the screen came up that includes the option to turn on airplane mode. I pushed the back button and it went away. Then there was some sort of message with an ad for diamond jewelry and it went to the phone function with an 800 number loaded in. I quickly stopped it from making the call.
Next I downloaded Lookout, which didn't find anything at all. Then I went to the apps and deleted an "Autopilot toggle" app. I am very concerned that there is malware on my phone and I don't know how to get rid of it.
Other relevant info: Original Motorola Droid, Rooted and running Android Version 2.2. I use Locale, which may have something to do with the autopilot, but I don't recall actually installing the autopilot toggle. I would think that functionality would be covered by my Locale Airplane Mode Plugin. I don't recall installing any apps at all in the past few weeks prior to this incident.
