Made It Through The Storm...

After a year with four different Storms (due to damage x1, and tech issues x2) I'm free of the berry, and will never buy a fruit :iphone:. A week with Droid and I'm still pleased. :icon_ goofy:

Hoping to continue to learn more and more of the capabilities of Droid.

Welcome.

Should you have any issues, feel free to ask.

And on that note, just remember: Google knows everything that you don't.

...Almost everything. ;)

enable your wi-fi settings if you got wireless internet at home, you'll love it more! You can even set all the hot spots you got too, like coffee shops, book stores, fast food etc, so when you are in those areas it switches automatically making it a much more enjoyable experience for your Facebooking, tweeting or blogging.

The Wifi has been a huge savior on my battery life as opposed to the Storm. Working in a hospital it's always looking for a signal and was draining the battery on the Storm which hasn't been a problem with my Droid over the weekend (2 12 hour days.) Now just have to set up all the Wifi connections.

It's a great feeling having iPhone addicts eying my Driod.

Yes, Wi-fi on the DROID is the bomb!

From one Storm refugee to another: Welcome to the forums.

I'm not even that heavy of a user, but the Storm battery life (or lack thereof) was killing me within the first few weeks. I ended up buying a huge battery from eBay, but it increased the thickness of the phone by about 1/8" and made it very hard to slide in & out of the case. Luckily, the case I had was leather, so I stretched the &*%# out of it to make the phone fit.

Based on that experience, I was fully prepared to start looking for extended batteries for the Droid, but it's actually holding up pretty well. I did make sure to cycle the battery a few times in the first week, though- let it discharge to under 10% before recharging fully. Lather, rinse, repeat.
