Root explorer doesn't work

I am using root explorer but it won't let me do anything to the files in the system directory because they're read only. how do i change this?

"root access has failed because su failed with the following message: FIX ME! inplement ttyname() bionic/libc/bionic/stubs.c:360"

Used root checker and it says I have root access and that busybox is installed correctly.

in root explorer on the top right there is a message that you can click...something about mount....click on it..change it to the other mount paramter...you didn't lose root :)
