Does anyone know where the little black rubber gasket inside the maxx goes. Replaced the battery and it fell out.

If it's small and either circular or oval it's probably a seal around the microphone at the bottom rear or around the speaker at the top rear. It's been a while since I had mine open and don't want to open this one because it's a CLNR.

Sounds like the microphone or speaker gasket. The tiny transducers have very little bass frequency response themselves, so the manufacturers create a small bass reflex area in the case to enhance the response. This is done by sealing off a portion of dead space in the case right behind and to the side of the rear of the tiny transducer essentially creating a tiny speaker or microphone cabinet for the bass to be enhanced.

Look carefully for an outline either on the back of the center chasis or the inside of the rear case lid that matches the shape of that gasket, and that probably runs from about the top or bottom middle of the phone body and goes toward one side.

If I can find a good pic of it I'll post here.

Could it be the one at the top right in those shots? If so, that's the speaker gasket.

Good job. Don't remember seeing that gasket anywhere. Glad you got it back in place. Keeping dust out of the case is a good thing.
