Left in the rain... bricked?

Hi,

My coworker left his Droid in the rain over the holiday weekend and now he can only boot up into the Bootloader screen.

I have tried helping him by using RSDLite 4.6 and using an .sbf file following the instructions from these file folks (Now you can live without fear of bricking - Android Forums) but it still does not seem to work. The phone will reboot but only go to the bootloader screen no matter what.

I tried doing a recovery for him but it keeps saying E:\open dev over and over again and then says it has reached it's maximum tries and quits.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are that this is hardware related. It can't hurt to try and reflash the phone, but if the phone worked, then got wet with no changes to software and now it doesn't work then things don't look good. Software doesn't get wet and soggy, electronics do.
