We have a few leaked pics worthy of your attention today. Apparently, Google plans to use their new Material Design concept on the Play Store eventually. They must be hard at work on it already, because the pics we have to show you give us a great early view.

Our friends at Android Police got their hands on these new Google Play Store UI pics, and although it looks like there are some minor hiccups to work out, for the most part it will be a solid improvement on the old design. Everything from the listing layout to the initial view is getting a facelift. The new look includes a ton of enhanced usability. Here's a couple of quotes with more of the details,

Listings are now more immersive and colorful, using hero images where appropriate. Apps and games use the hero image or promo video developers have already uploaded to the Play Store, while movies use their respective trailers, and books and magazines use an expanded header, since their covers are usually portrait rectangles which wouldn't translate well to an immersive hero image.

They also added,

The initial view of each screen tells the real story, but what's below that? It appears the rest of the listing layout is getting a refresh as well - there's more white space, more careful use of typography, and the content description (and ostensibly the "what's new" section) expands into a full-screen view. The reviews section has been made more colorful to match its web counterpart. At the very bottom, users will notice new iconography (like the tiny flag for inappropriate content).

The new look is impressive, although it is obviously a work in progress. We are looking forward to spending some time with the final product. There are more pics in the thread below. Share your thoughts.

The Play Store really hasn't changed much at all. It's time for a makeover.
