For folks who need a rugged style smartphone, one of the things you frequently have to put up with is an unattractive device. It looks like that assumption is remaining true for now, as can be seen with the Kyocera Brigadier. An image of the device was shared by @evleaks, and it looks like it is heading to Verizon. Other than the fact that it will be water-dust and shock resistant, we also know it will have LTE and physical buttons. Other than that, there are no other details.

It would be amazing to see this device come with higher-end specs than we usually see in ruggedized smartphones, but we won't hold our breath. Sound off if you work in an industry where you need a phone like this, and share your experiences.

I think it looks cool. I like the shape. Not the same boring rectangle. I'm an electrician and I can use a phone like this. My X is pretty rugged but I'm careful with it too.

From what you can see of the side, it looks like it has a PTT button.. hoping this can replace the GzOne Comando (non 4g).. my company needs PTT and they havent updated those phones in a while as the 4g version didnt have PTT.. FINALLY

If the specs are decent, it will definitely be worth looking into. I like the design as well. I'm tired of the same old approach for smart phone styles.
