I spent part of the day watching this guy. The Common Redpoll doesn't normally get much further south in the winter than northern Minnesota. So to see them in the backyard this week has been a win for sure. View attachment 78276View attachment 78277View attachment 78278

Cool! We have bears and they're out and about. Wish I could have my suet blocks out for the northward migration season. I've even tried putting them on my second floor deck. Saw a lot of really unusual birds last year. Then the bears came out of their dens in mid February and with 2 Papillons, I couldn't take a chance this year. Used to love reading the Cartoons in the Sunday paper. Wonder whatever happened to them. They are not in the local papers anymore.
