Since the one-click rooting method seems to downgrade our RUU (and firmware? is this correct?) will flashing eventual roms bring us back up to date? Or will the root process need to be repeated?

The firmware is re-upgraded as part of the rooting process.

Good to know. I am since rooted and removing bloatware as we speak. Woot, gotta love droid and all the great dev's doin their thing man, keep it up.
