Landscape home screen

I've had my DROID X for about 3 months now and I 've noticed that for the most part I hold the phone horizontally because it's easier to type that way. When I return to the home screen though I always flip it back just because the home screen never rotates, it stays vertical. Is there a way to change this? I know a friend of mines android home screen rotates but he has a slide out keyboard so I figures that's why.

TLR how do I make he home screen rotate horizontally.

I use launcher pro and it will rotate the home screens. It's an app that replaces the stock home.

The free version doesn't let you resize widgets, the pay version is only $4 though.
