'Kameleon Series' Apps

Kameleon apps are "self theming" according to the system text colors, like the settings menu text color.. All of my themes have the colors all changed so I designed these to change certain colors when going to a different theme.. On a stock rom or a theme that has white text, they still self theme but more to a standard inverted app.. My BLIZZARD theme has a light grey text so that's basically what it would look like.. Theming has come a long way but it's not easy creating something 'over the top' or 'never seen before'... So on my themes, I try to change up as much as I can with hidden xml edits and whatnot and I hadn't really used a PC very much before last September when I started theming so I've impressed myself a little.. lol.. Anyway, I made these apps cause I hadn't seen it done before, my themes all have xml edits that make these apps look cool, and cause my wife says I have an addictive personality... .. I released the Black Market and Facebook apks a month and a half ago and they have 400+ downloads so either they're pretty popular and catching on, or somebody has an issue with repeat downloading my stuff.. lol.. So, even though this design isn't gonna get me any nominations into the Jedi Counsel of Themers, I have fun creating new things so I'll keep adding to the list as much as I can.. There's probably a limit as to what/how many apps will support this style.. But I think I'll add Twitter, GoogleVoice,GoogleSearch, etc.. Those are universal apps and I'll get with some other themers and see what else I can work with.. The cool thing about being B-boy™ is that I started theming for myself and my wife and it led to all this... so even if Kameleon doesn't take off... it's fun to do anyway!.. ..I only make themes for the Moto Droid 1 so I have no clue if these work on other devices so if you try any, please report back as to if they worked and if you had to make any special changes to get them to work.. thanks... I include the Calculator in my themes and I use different GB keyboards in them, too. So you can boot into recovery to install the theme and then flash the Kameleon Keyboard at the same time.. Enjoy!......... Kameleon GoogleSearch and GoogleVoice didn't have as many xmls as I hoped for but they do still self theme to a degree plus theBowers did a helluva job on those so even stock they're awesome!

Always look foward to seeing if there's something knew from you.... and there it is...
I like this a lot.
Since this is jus generally for the d1 and not rom specific it will save so many people so much time changing this instead of them doin it themselves.
Everything you've ever put out has been quality IMO.
So if this jus started as something for you and your wife, look at you now.
You've made countless droids unique, appealing, different, etc...
Gotten your own section and massive recognition here.
And have people that are true fans that look foward to what u do.
You're an asset to the android community and your work is a major contribution.
You should look into maybe putting your work on the market where more people wil notice/be able to access it...and you could make a donate version ; )
I'm rambling but I guess all I'm really saying is you had a hobby run off on you and it has been nothin but great.
Love the work....
Would definitly look into puttin it on the market tho.

I would definitely nominate you for the Jedi Themers Counsel. I always enjoy seeing what you put out.

And you give me encouragement, I started doing basic ports for myself and I keep forcing myself to try and learn new things. I even impressed myself a few times (granted they were trivial things - equivalent to tying my shoes I would guess - but I was happy so what else do I need ).

Thanks Bboy and keep it up, I always look forward to what youre going to throw out for us to enjoy.

Haha... that's cool JSM... I started out making metamorph pulldowns and icon sets for requests.... basically learned by reading and attempting....and failing... lol... but inverted has been done... transparent has been done... so I decided to try something different... I'm gonna get with jatx and maybe toss some "Kameleon Clears" in here too.... but keep up the good work bro, lots of users were accustomed to old school themes so porting them is a huge benefit to the community ..... D

Yeah I actually really enjoy doing the theme ports of older themes. It was part of the reason I wanted to figure this stuff out. There are plenty of awesome current themes out there but I like to experience a good flash back now and then - pun intended. I am actually working on honing my skills, or trying to get some more like it, and build my own theme but as you said so many things have been done that it has been a bit hard for me to design stuff thats original. I am determined though and am up to editing xmls pretty successfully, just trying to find where everything is to edit can be tough for me sometimes

OP updated with a new Kameleon Black Market that uses system buttons instead of buttons within the Vending.apk so it matches up better and is now even more self theming..


Also, I'm venturing into theming for the DX on Chevy's SSx rom so I have DX downloads available, too.. I don't know how these will work on Liberty or Apex, etc... so flash at will but also at your own risk...
