deleting inbox

I only received one answer to questions I have had and the answer appeared incorrect to me. If I'm not constantly monitoring my inbox, it fills up and deletes email I have saved there, like an agenda of events. I find no where to eliminate that as an issue. 2. I also don't see any way to move emails to another box. I could create a save box and put the emails there. 3. My trash box just keeps getting larger and larger and I don't know how to limit it's size. I hate to just randomly empty the box. 4. I have no idea what expunge means in this context and am afraid to use it.

Lets start with some basic info now, what kinda of email account are you using? Exchange for a work email? Yahoo account? Gmail account? IMAP? POP3?

I'm using outlook on my computer and comast on my phone. Whenever I get too many messages, the ones I was saving in my inbox disappear.
