Your mail server has to support IMAP IDLE, which is the closest you can get to "push" on Android.

And it rawks too. I get faster emails on my Drooooid than I do with Outlook!

Do you get a purple (Cyan) flashing light when you get mail with k9?

Yeah I just setup a dummy gmail account that absorbs all my Comcast emails and sends them to my phone via K9 IMAP. Works nicely.
