ODIN is like RSD Lite. You need to install the drivers on your PC. You place ODIN and the .tar files in the same folder on your pc. Pull your battery and hold volume down and plug the usb cable in and you will enter download mode(bootloader). Open ODIN and press PDA button and select the CWM .tar then press start. when it is done, put your battery back in and let the phone reboot. Once everything is OK, power off and press the full volume button and power on to enter recovery. Apply update.zip which will put you in clockwork recovery. then apply superuser zip if you don't already have it. reboot and open rom manager and flash clockwork recovery. done.
If you are still on DI01 then you will need to Odin the DJ09 modem (radio file) if you are upgrading to the froyo leak. If you can't find what you need here, there are guides on XDA and Android Central.
If you already have superuser, you should be able to skip the superuser zip part. Make sure you have one of the stock ODIN files handy just in case. This isn't as forgiving as the Droid. I had to ODIN back to stock twice in the first 24hrs, once because the ROM I flashed broke root and I couldn't get it back. The second time it was because when I flashed the leak I didn't have the right radio file and I couldn't make a call. Sux being a noob again
I am having a similar problem however I did flash cmw in odin the 2.2 went flawlessly and I can get in to clockwork in recovery menu. However when I open rom manager it says it I need a revovery I go through the flash option and it gives an error... Help Mr android hulk you were so helpful last time I goofed it somewhere. Though my phone is running 2.2 perfectly. I just cant see what and where I went wrong on this new one
Yeah. You need to flash a diff kernel first time in clockwork, dl09 kernel doesnt play nice w cwr. I think there is a link to a kernel in the xda page I referred.
