Just got the Official 2.2 OTA update..

I dont want it at all, Im running BB V.04 and Im more than happy with it,

but its annoying when It keeps asking me to update, Is there any way a

its poping up with bb.4? i thought ota updates were disabled.

I thought so too but it is.. I went to setting > about phone > system updates and

there it is...

if you try to install the update through sprecovery or clockwork it should kill it

Isn't there a script or something for that. I know LiMod has a script for that. You should check the original post pete made about bb and see if there is a script for that.

Yes, 3 friends just got the 2.2 OTA notification. VZW must be rolling out the update . . .

They all just let it try to install and since they're on custom roms it failed, getting rid of the reminder to update.

It shouldn't, just accept the OTA and the ROM should block it and that will stop those annoying messages (that's what I read before )

If I am running stock FRG01B rooted and I get the OTA update will I be able to install it? If not could I revert to my 2.1 backup and unroot to install the OTA? Thanks for the help.

according to some pretty knowledgeable mods (http://www.droidforums.net/forum/an...-hangout-thread-all-discussions-welcomed.html) if you dl the ota update, recovery will prevent the actual install, and you will still be rooted. you just won't get the annoying update reminder anymore...

Does being rooted prevent the install or the fact that you are on 2.2? Could I use easyroot to unroot and install the OTA then reroot?

I just selected to install now, It turned off and its now stuck on a triangle with ! in the middle and the little green android.. what do I do?
