Joining/Merging Contacts

I have a problem with the Contact system,

I am aware of how to Join contacts but it often doesn't work. Only with some names for whatever reason does it work.

Also I can't add any phone numbers to contacts that where imported in from facebook.

Any suggestions?

you can't add a number to a facebook contact because you cant edit their profile. but from contact info hit menu->edit then menu->new and u will be adding a new contact joined with that one. you can enter just the phone number, and it will look fine from your phone. but if you view your contacts on gmail, it will show up only as a number. unfortunately it does not have a button for 'pull contact info from facebook -> gmail' or the likes. i would recommmend re typing the name so if u change to another device u can sitll have the g-contact with proper name
