I can't seem to find a topic covering this so I will post here.
Does anyone know how the Motorola Droid determines which of two joined contacts gets picked as the name of the new joined contact. I can not for the life of me figure out how it makes the priority determination. Sometimes it picks the first contact you open sometimes it picks the second. I thought maybe it picked the one with a phone number but that does not seem to be the case either as it will sometimes pick a FB contact with no phone number over a gmail contact with a phone number. I have tried joining and then breaking apart some contacts and then re-joining them in a different but it always picks the same name to go first. Just as an example if I have two contacts John Doe and John D and I join them it does not matter if I start with John Doe or John D it always picks the same one as the name of the joined contact.
Any ideas? It would be nice to know which one it was going to pick as the final name before the joining was done.
