Japan crisis

Ok, now im.sure most of you guys have heard about the current crisis in japan. Well now with all this radiation problems theyre having , rumors are out the radiation may spread to the u.s.. whats your opinion on this?

That's a long way. Time distance and shielding is the best defense against Rad. We have 2 on our side.

I thought that water was a barrier alone and that is why it is being used to cool the melting rods. My understanding is that water absorbs the radiation and the ocean alone will be enough to cancel it out. I believe evaporation of the water will help.

But "WHY THE RUM?!"
 
well IF it ever travels it'll affect Hawaii first. well maybe Guam. but I doubt it'll travel that far but still worried

I agree however on the other hand, my daughter and the marching band is in Japan about 500 miles south of Tokyo so I am concerned for her safety

It might just be enough enriched uranium to reach the us.... they had a reactor explode and their cooling tanks cought fire.
The cooling tanks probably have over 10+ years worth of depleted uranium in them.
