A buddy of mine picked up a Moto X recently and was asking me if there was root yet. So is there a root method yet?

Googled only for a little bit and didn't find anything really.

That's for the x... Is he asking about the x2? Maybe the subforum is wrong.

The Moto X (2014) one. I thought I posted in the right subforum...

Only root for the new Moto X is for the Pure Edition one. I don't think any of the carrier branded ones have been rooted yet.

Yea 2014, x2... The og x root method linked above will not help. Unless they have the att pure edition with unlockable bootloader. then no, no root yet.

Hmmm ok. Guess my friend is out of luck for now.

Bah, can't believe that they're making root so difficult now.

Still easy for nexus devices.

I have rooted almost all of the phones that I have owned, but the Moto X 2014 might be the 1st phone that I could deal with not having root. I have the unlocked pure edition phone and this guy is lean and mean. :)
Say, does getting root on this phone wipe it?
