Well, why judge an app like that for looks? You're only going to use it sparingly to disable some apps from starting and forget about it. So get the one that's most functional to you. I haven't found any other app that can disable startup apps btw, mostly because killing startup processes is pointless on android.
I just use Advanced Task Killer and in the interface you can check what you want on or off, and it starts at start up. All you have to do is at start up click the app in the notification bar and click "KILL selected apps".
You can start your phone in safe mode by holding power button and the "x" button simultaneously and then hit the + volume button and the camera button at the same time when you see a triangle to enter the phones "BIOS".
