Is there a way to customize each notification?

Hey Gurus,

I know I can change my notification sound, and I know how to do so (ty Zedge) but is there a way to change the notification sound per application. In other words, can my texts have one notification tone, my gmail another, and my k9 even another? I looked it settings all day long and could not find this. The answer is probably no, but I thought it would be awesome to know exactly why my phone is notifying me.

Light Flow in the market is a great app for this...it also helps you change LEDs and have repeating notifications if wanted.
