Is it possible to remove the smiley face shortcut on the keyboard?

It gets in the way alllllllllllll the time when I am typing out a text. Is there any way to remove it? Like maybe a app or something?

Download handscent SMS text apparently. It improves the downfalls of the stock text app but also doesn't have the smiley face

Amazing app man thanks a ton. It took me a while to completely disable the regular messenger but I figured it out.

Alright well I thought I was able to remove the default messaging notification but it seems that I can't. Any idea how to do that?

I really really wish there was an option to remove it from my keyboard. It is actually larger than the period and has caused some embarrassing messages such as "Sorry to hear that you mother died"

Please make smiley's be something you type out or navigate to!
