Default Smileys

Some of you might think this question is strange or mundane.

Is there a way to change the default smileys the droid X uses when you are typing a message and click on the smiley icon? I don't like the way the Droid X puts a - in all the smiley faces for a nose, I would like to edit them out if there is any possible way.

I have tried Better Keyboard, but I cant find a way to alter those smileys either.

--Before anybody flames me, I have searched both google and the forums, and I am unable to find the answer to my question.

Flaming is not tolerated here, so you don't have to worry about that, plus you would be surprised at the little things that can make our lives, or phones easier, everybody has something they would like to see implemented into their device

Smart keyboard allows u to edit Smileys.

Is that the only way to edit Smileys on the Droid x? I'm hesitant to pay for another keyboard app. I'm a bit shocked there isn't a way to edit them with the default keyboard.
