Is it me or is the camera on the droid with froyo MUCH improved?

I know the UI and features have improved a lot so it's now actually usable but I am finding the picture quality especially in low light to be significantly better. I can now take pictures in really dark situations and they look far better than they did before. In fact I now wish as well as a +1/+2 exposure boost there was a -/-2 since sometimes things are now blown out.

It is interesting, some people see improvements with the camera and froyo and others saw negative results...mine seemed to improve :)

I cannot change the setting on mine with the new FRG22 update. The menu is there but it won't let me change anything except for zoom.

Tips?

Ive noticed that after I take a picture, on 2.2, and they show the little 2 second preview and then returns to the camera UI, that the preview is very sharp. Than once I view the picture in my Gallery, it is a lot softer due to the software trying to eliminate noise from low light pictures.

Im not a real fan as this takes a lot of detail out of the pictures taken with my Droid.
