Is it just me or is a rooted/oc'd/rom'd Droid > Droid 2?

I played with a D2 today and while it was very snappy stock, it was still far inferior to my Droid. it's a shame moto locked the bootloader, as the D2 has potential to be the best smartphone out there, but until you can flash ROMs it doesn't come close to the D1.

Yes, but not many people (1%?) have experienced a rooted D1 so the general consensus will be no. Underneath the hood the D2 has a bunch of potential to hopefully be revealed as soon as we have a root solution.

On the Droid 2:

Motoblur is a disaster. Synching with Exchange is horrible. Contacts won't synch, and then MOTO requires you to set up a 4 digit passcode which has to be typed into your phone after 15 minutes of inactivity. I had two phonecalls using my bluetooth headset go to crap. At the gym, using the music players and chatting on Yahoo, had freeze ups that required a battery pull.

Returning my Droid2 tommorow, and buying a Droid1 to hold me over till Spring. Motoblur is complete CRAP.

ya, id say its basically the same. blur might even be ported over, so overclocked it'll be the same
