Is BD's section locked down indefinitely?

Credit is a big deal when it comes to ROM making. People just take it for granted that these guys are supposed to make or phones better and not get credit for it. A lot of blood sweat and tears are put into this and a lot of arguing if you have a Girlfriend lol.

I just don't understand why credit is more important than the cause.

I dont think there has been any blood, probably little sweat, but im sure a lot of crying about all of this... If there has been blood, than I think you take this all a little to seriously...

For 98% of the people, we dont really care who it came from, Im on this forum because BD was always on helping people with problems, I tried a few things out, this one was the best and had the best help, simple as that... And as for people taking donations for stuff that is not their work, well BD is on the forums about 15 hours a day helping people, so that right there is reasons to get donations...

I think a lot of the developers just need to go out, get a stiff drink and try and get some action... it will take the edge off.

Some of us just happened to like the ROM. Bottom line for me.
Had nothing to do with sources and what not for me.

I myself can understand all sides and don't know enough about what's gone on to comment nor do I want to know.

I just hope it gets resolved properly... whatever that may be.

Meanwhile, I wish this somber feeling in the forums would stop and it'd be fun again :)

Wanna drink to that with me? :)
We staying small time and doing a 12-pack or big time with a 30 rack? :beer2:
Lets start out small and work our way up :beer2:

Its because of the time that's put into creating a ROM. It's like if you had a project at school or work that you put a lot of time into and then one of your classmates or coworkers came in and took all of the credit for the ideas that you came up with you'd be pissed.
Thats why recording artists get mad when someone uses there music without asking or getting the okay.

So taking donations on someone else work is okay then?

I am a developer and I don't take kindly to people taking work as their own whether it's open source or not (this has happened to me before). It's really a problem when your given no recognition or credit and the other person on top of that ask for donations for "his" sweat and tears.

Is that any different than they guys who jailbreak or root phones on Craigslist?

Works for me :D

i wonder if anybody else will come and drink with us till everything is resolved?

i think i might.. might want to go and get a 30 pack:icon_ banana::icon_ banana:
maybe a couple of 30 packs? since im sure more people will join us eventually :icon_ banana::icon_ banana::icon_ banana:

You know what that means. KEGs!

"Come toss aside the madness and drink til it feels good!"

I've been using UltimateDroid since he was on Alldroid and I've been a fan since 6.3 but I've been playing with Cyanogen for a week or two and it works really nice. I'm now using Jrummys blue version of Cyanogen and I plan on staying with it until the Incredible comes out:) (of course I'll keep flashing other roms just for fun but Cyanogen is my main one now)

Those guys are wrong too. See most of John Q Public is to lazy to do the research to learn how to jailbreak their phones. Most people get frustrated when they run into the slightest bump in the road. I see it here at my job all the time. Everyone comes to me to jailbreak their iDevices and Android phones because they don't have the patients to learn how to do it. So the guys on Craigslist take advantage of that. If most people just took their time they could get the tools for free and do it themselves.

I believe those are different situations because there is something at stake, such as grades, promotions, and money.

Certainly ROM makers are not in it for the money. (at least I hope not! ;) ) I would hope that they would be in it because they want to get better performance out of their phones and they want to share it with others.

If credit was more important then getting the best ROMs out there, then maybe they are doing it for the wrong reasons IMHO...
