Is Android market the only place to get apps?

Several apps are no longer available on the Market and that caused me to wonder if apps are made available through torrents and the like... Does anyone know of any other places?

It is not the only place, but the best. There are some .apks floating around the forums and on some blogs. I would be cautious though, they might be bogus.

Considering that the standards for and effort to place an app in the Market are almost non-existent, you'd have to ask yourself why a developer wouldn't want an app in the Market.

Also The App Store And Slideme, but if you D/L from them you have to install via a file manager, or at least the last time i did. They both have an interface kinda sorta like Market Place.

I highly recomend NOT installing an app that couldn't get approved for the marketplace.

To answer your question, yes there are places that have apps that you can download them. Torrents, other websites, etc. I won't say where on here though because its highly frowned upon and the mods don't like it. But if you do some google searches you'll be able to find stuff

+1 for AppBrain.com. But it should be noted that the apps included on that site are all in the Market. It is simply a convenient way to identify and select applications for downloads.
