App developers are increasingly bringing their apps to Android first with the slow decline of the iphone and the emergence of devices like the Galaxy series of devices. There are still a few developers that have had enough success with iOS that thy decide to release apps on iOS well before they release their Android counterpart. Some students have successfully demonstrated a handful of iOS apps running on a Nexus 7! The apps have plenty of bugs and do run slowly, but this could soon be a good alternative to simply not having access to certain iOS only apps.
