Intermittent data=pending total fail?

So... I just lost my data connection.
List of goofy stuff (related?)...
>Updated to System Version 4.5.596 (issues started before update)
>Intermittent data connection. "3G" would disappear and internet wouldn't connect.
>Running Navigation in the car, phone would heat up across the bottom where charger plugs in.
>Heavy game play (Medieval Castle Defense) while on the charger would also cause heat up.

End result: (and last resort) Full factory reset

Next step... New phone tomorrow.

The phone's supposed to get hot! It's like mini computer after all. I mean mine gets hot when ya know tethering and such...

As for the data connection, that's a new feature in Gingerbread (4.5.596), data auto-disables after a period of inactivity.

Isn't it supposed to RE-connect? Maybe they forgot that feature. :/

Update: Completed factory reboot, super clean, but still NO data connection.
Verizon, here I come. :icon_evil:
