Intense Problem with Phone ID

Will switching/New phone phones but staying with the same provider switch my
" Droid ID"?

I want to switch manually with I hear a rooted/android id add changer but I don't think they have the id changer app anymore.

I found out that there is a possible way to change ID on droid through something like this:

I don't know much else sorry. I was just hoping there was a way..

Ok.... if you want to change it use that app or change it manually. Either way what carrier you're on doesn't matter.

The app doesn't exist on the market and how do I change it manually? My phone is not rooted yet...I use a droid x.

Need root first then an app that will allow you to edit the build.prop.
There are a few paid and free apps out there like root explorer that allow you to do this. Now what to change it too is beyond me.
