Instagram just published an update for their app to their Beta community. The new version of the app brings a new 3D Touch like feature to Instagram for Android. This is obviously not the same as pressure sensitivity in iPhone's 3D Touch. The Peek mode instead uses long press to allow you to view full sized images without actually having to open them up. This takes away a few steps when trying to view full sized images.
Normally in the search window you would need to press to open a photo, then hit the back button to get back to the list. Here you just long press to view the full size image and release the screen to go back to the list. This is a pretty cool feature, and I wouldn't be surprised if other apps don't follow suit adding 3D touch like "long press" features to their android counterpart apps.
