Inconsistent lock screen issue

For some odd reason my lock screen is having trouble deciding whether or not it wants to use my pattern lock or just the regular slide to unlock button. Most of the time it just opts for the slide button but every once in a while it asks for my secret pattern. Anybody else have this issue?

If you dont want the Pattern Lock at all, go into Settings--->Location & Security--->Security--->Screen Lock--->Screen Unlock Security--->NONE

If you just want to adjust the amount of time before the Pattern Lock activates, do the same as above, but select Security--->Screen Unlock Security--->Security Lock Timer---> Adjust accordingly from "When Display Is Off to 20 Minutes".
