Incompatible apps

Why are applications like (google calendar) and (chrome) not compatible with the bionic? Is this phone that out dated?

Regarding the calendar I have used both the stock calendar and business calendar and sync them with the google calendar without ant problems.

I read something about The new google colander that just became available on the play store but it doesn't even show up, I searched it on the google play website and it was there but it said my phone was not compatible with this app and I got the same message about chrome.

Both of those apps require OS 4.x and higher. The Bionic is running OS 2.3.x (officially). Once ICS hits the Bionic it will run both of those.
