inc not recognizing zip files

I actually feel stupid asking this but is there a reason my inc does not recognize zip files? I just got it the other day from another reputable user. Its rooted and running cm on it. I was trying to install another rom and for some reason the zip file will not show when in recovery but does show if I go into the sd card from astro or a program of that nature.

I've owned other android devices and this process worked just fine(Droid, Droid x, Droid 2). Is there something im doing incorrectly that needs to be done on the inc differently?

Sometimes file extensions are hidden on Windows. If you name a file "whatever.zip" the Inc reads it as "whatever.zip.zip". Try naming the file without manually adding a .zip to the end and see if that resolves the issue.

I have my file extensions shown on my windows machine. As I said before I've done this before on my other android devices.
