Sometimes the games with the most impressive visuals are not necessarily the big-budget blockbusters you would expect. Here's a case-in-point. Unigine Corp. uses their own Unigine 3D engine for their new game called "Oil Rush." The game looks like an RTS with a unique take on a war for resources, as you battle against foes for control of oil in an alternate future reminiscent of the Kevin Costner movie, Waterworld.

The content of the game is intriguingly unique, but the game's visuals are easily its biggest draw. The Unigine 3D Engine is stunning to behold, especially on an Android tablet or smartphone. In fact, it's graphics are easily as impressive as some of the games you will find on PC or consoles. That probably shouldn't come as a surprise because one of the best gaming benchmarks for the PC is called "Heaven DX11 Benchmark" which uses the same Unigine 3D Engine. Here's a 26 minute demo of the game in action below:

The game is actually available for PCs already for just $19.95, but will come to Android in February. It will only be exclusively compatible with Snapdragon S4 chipsets MSM8960, APQ8064 and MPQ8064 for the first 6 months of release, although no further details were given. Here's some of the quoted features from their press release, with a source link afterward,

  • Stunning 3D graphics, a next step for mobile gaming visuals
  • Varied environments in a flooded post-apocalyptic world, from the tropics to the Antarctic
  • Wide range of mission types to create a gripping experience
  • Strategic depth due to multi-level upgrade options and a balanced technology tree
  • Quick game mode for battles with up to three AI opponents
  • Long, full-featured campaign packed with challenging, story-based missions

i've played pc version and compared to command and conquer or starcraft series, these controls are horrible. looks nice, but gameplay isn't there. sorry to be critical.
