importing Mac address book to Droid X

What's the best way to accomplish this ? Ideally I'd be able to sync my phone with some desktop application (mac address book would be ideal since that is what I have been using). However even without the desktop feature I need to at very least get these contacts from there to my new phone.

Thanks
David

or you can go to

address book>preferences> general

and it has the option to sync with google

EDIT: this is WRONG!! i apologize, it will sync your GOOGLE contacts TO your MAC address book.

BacknBlack's way is the proper way. Again, sorry for the misinformation, i was double checking using my husband's account [he's getting the X next week] & now have all his old college emails in our Mac but none of our contacts in his gmail account.

sorry. :(

Problem is that I don't want all of the other contacts in my gmail account to sync to this phone. Ideal would be to get it on this phone then have the phone synce these to my gmail account but not import the million email address I don't really want on my phone.

Any other ideas ?

Ok, thats easier.....Not a Mac user here :D

But I am. And I didn't know that. And she's right.

I've never used the address book in my Mac. But I can't believe all the stuff it has in it.

I don't believe it's synced with Google unless I did it and just don't remember.

It goes both ways as far as I know....It works that way.
Not syncing to Gmail IMHO handicaps the device.

Easiest way is to install Spanning Sync on your Mac. It allows you to select groups of contact or all, also specific or all calendars. Does it wirelessly and flawlessly.

Fwiw

I bought and use Missing Sync for Android. It syncs Calendar, Contacts, and iTunes with my Mac along with many other features such as creating ring tones, etc. Set up fairly easy and works great over WiFi, Bluetooth, or wired. It does require an app on the phone and one on the computer but does what it does very well.dancedroid
