I'm so confused

I like to think I can at least navigate my way through techonology. However, when it comes to my droid x2 I am at a lost.

Can you guys help me?

I am trying to figure out how to root my phone. Have no idea if it is or not. I tried a link from a previous post. I was lost. To much tech words that I had no clue what they meant.

Can I get some clear instructions?

My phone is running extremely slow. I did a search to find something called Gingerbread, what is that?

Also, my battery doesn't last long. I have battery saver, not really helping much.

Any suggestions?

I would highly suggest you learn more before you go and root your phone. Do some research into what Android is and Gingerbread and what rooting actually is. There are many good tutorials out there, but if you just follow them blindly not knowing what your doing, you can brick your phone.

If your phone is running slowly and your having battery issues, I would recommend doing a factory reset on your phone first, then re-install the applications that you use the most after. See how that goes and how your battery lasts. If your phone is still slow, or your battery is crappy, then it is probably and application.
