I'm rooted...now what?

Ok, I finally rooted my "D1". I have it overclocked to 700 (I don't know if that's good or bad) but it seems to run much better.

I have looked all around the internet for installing custom roms. It seems as though every thread/article I find about it includes something that is outdated or no longer available.

So here is my question: Is it really worth it to install custom roms or will it just cause more frustration? I would like to to find simple, easy to follow, recent directions/video that include exactly how to install a rom, what all is needed and where to dl it from (somewhere that actually has working apps/files).

It seems like all the info I have found is related to Droid X or D2. I don't know if it's phone specific or if each rom will work with every OS.

One other question: I thought that I could get rid of worthless preinstalled apps (i.e. Amazon MP3) after I was rooted...I still can't figure out how to uninstall that? But wireless tethering works good ;)

kiss your warranty goodbye... lol

Warranty? Lol!! If you noticed, I said "Droid 1"...my warranty ended long ago. As a matter of fact, I'll be the first one in line the day Thunderbolt goes on sale. Fyi, what can be rooted, can be unrooted.
