Assuming you haven't removed the bloatware, the update will be fine, and it will not wipe out your phone, but you will lose your root. You can just root again the same way you did before.
If you accept it, absolutely nothing will happen. You will not lose root, nothing will happen to your phone. It just won't restart when it says it's going to and you will not be notified of the update again- you will not get anything from the update. However, getting rid of the annoying notification is a plus.
At least thats what everyone in incredibleforums has been saying, and the same proved true for me.
Personally after speaking with my Verizon rep down the street, I think this update is to change the OS so it cant be rooted or needs to be re hacked to root again.
They know that almost everyone with a droid is rooting it, and they want to stop it!
I think this update is just a film of a different os to screw us up, and they added slacker radio yeah!!!
Im not down to install this update from vz but i keep getting this annoying notification and sometimes i accidentally press the "update" button becuz the notification doesnt go away even after two reboots

If you are rooted, go ahead and accept the update, it will fail, and the notifications will stop.
If you are not rooted, take the update. You can always just ignore the VZ App Store and Slacker if you don't want to use them, everything else is bug fixes, so what is the harm?
