If you're on 2.2.1 then I have a feeling Verizon isn't your carrier. If you're using one of the other carriers that will allow you activate your phone then you will always be stuck at 2.1.1. Upgrades don't aren't available on non Verizon carriers.

I'm saying, these boards are filled with people running different versions, and even the Mod above was mistaken about the validity of this version...

I'm just trying to make sure my device is current and ready.

Yeah, I was thinking you said 2.1 not 2.2.1. The X was released originally with 2.1 then upgraded to 2.2. I got thrown off by the .1 afterwards.

Was not replying to your post, but the one telling you that you were not on vzw. Yes, if you are not rooted and on 2.2.1 you should receive the OTA update.
