I'm hunting for a good desktop program that I can send texts through

Few years ago I had a nokia e71. I was able to send texts through its software to my phone via bluetooth. I have an O.G droid right now. I've never really found an answer to this question. Is there a software that allows me to do such a thing? It made life so much easier because I could leave my phone on silent and easily shoot off texts on my laptop....

I use Mighty Text. I had to install Google chrome for it to work, but once set up it has been great for me when I need it.
