ICS update release?

Does anyone know when ICS is planned to be released to other phones through updates? Was also wondering the general idea of what phones would be receiving the update.

Thanks!

Only timetable is that Moto said Q1 of 2012. Razr and Bionic would be getting it. Nexus S (not on Verizon) just got it recently or is getting it soon from what I read.

First Google devices get the updates then its up to manufacturers to push the updates out. Motorola is probably the best at getting updates out.

Manufacturers seem gung ho about releasing ICS in a timely fashion. Huawei and Sony Ericsson already have some pre builds (maybe even higher) up already.

ICS update as a ROM to flash or OTA?

What form will the ICS update take? Will it be an OTA update? If so, will it be re-issued as a ROM flash for root users who do not want to re-install everything after an OTA update? I'm particularly concerned as I have a D2G with the radio hack to accomodate domestic SIM cards. My inderstanding is that OTAs tend to reflash the radio as well. Is that true?

Most likely pushed out as an OTA. Word is the next update (4.0.2) will be the base of the updates pushed out to others. From there the company can add their UI and whatever mods they feel necessary.

Not familiar with reflashing cause the Nexus is my first SIM card device. The d2g may not even receive ICS.

Hmm that would be a toss up. I would assume all dual core phones would see the update but the DX2 is a wild card.

Ya, that's what I thought too, but since the x2 has the nvidia processor(unlike most of the other dual core phones), I don't know how likely it will be.

From what I was told the x2 will be getting the update, but the vzw tech I was talking to could have been wrong, so only time will tell.
