ICS this week?

From different posts that I read earlier it sounds like they started pushing the OTA update on the east coast first, according to people that posted about receiving the update and their location. Who knows, its like that anticipation you have as a child when its Christmas Eve and you can't wait for tomorrow to come.

You are exactly right. I can't believe how much i'm driving myself crazy over this lol. I live near NYC and still haven't received an update. I tried doing it manually with the zip file from another post but it didn't work and I would rather not try again. If something messes up with the OTA at least I can get support from verizon or Moto if I need it.

Currently enjoying ICS greatness! I urge people who cant wait to use this awesome utility Droid Razr Utility 1.7 [For Ics And Those Who Want To Go To Ics] - DroidRzr.com View attachment 51430

How come people aren't using this utility (for all the ones who haven't received update yet)?

Also, how's the battery in. 211? Still much worse than gingerbread?

If we use this for .211, will we be able to receive future updates as normal? Any disadvantage to using this tool to forcibly update?

Matt (the guy who made this utility) said to someone in that link that it is the official update and you will be able to continue the update path.

Gotcha. So what's the biggie about people waiting if they can just use the utility? Lol.

I'm hesitant because I haven't done this before and i'm too worried about screwing something up either now or down the road. I tried doing something from another thread yesterday but that guy didn't suggest using this utility to put ICS on the phone. I don't know if this is much better or not. I would rather wait for the official OTA to come for me because It will just be more exciting i guess? lol that sounds silly. I also feel like if I screw something up then verizon and moto wont help but if the OTA screws up then they would.

Ah, lol. I can understand that. I'm about to head over there and read some feedback. I might just take that route if everyone there claims it work well. I would feel much better if ICS was a surprise, lol.

First of all I would like to give a big thanks to the moderators for keeping this thread clean and on track.
I don't know how they find the time to watch all the stuff going on and keep it all on track.
I can hardly keep up with this thread alone and all I do is mostly read the posts.
As you can see I have been a member for quite a while and have just a few posts.
I can find out most of what I need by searching and reading.
Second I can say I am still waiting no ICE yet for me, but i live in Mississippi and the electricity that was produced in 1976 is just now getting to my house.

I just asked on that forum if this utility will put the update on my phone for me or if I will have to do something else. Trying to get as much info as I can. Still hitting that update button on my phone though lol. I'm just driving myself crazy over this.

I've been following this thread pretty close and really like the information everyone brings here. I do have a couple of questions though.
1- Is the update people got a soak test or just the beginning of the role out to the masses? Does anyone know for sure?
2- Why is verizon not more interactive with us? Seems as though they just drop broad hints every so often but are never around to answer the questions they cause.
Thank you in advance. Really like this thread!

Battery life is better especially with the ability to disable much of the bloat. This is the exact file that is the OTA and it does not root your phone unless you go through the process to do it. I had a completely stock Razr with .181 and it was completed in about 20 minutes

The utility is very straightforward. There are outlined directions on page 15 of the post that I followed and it worked flawlessly. Just be sure your battery is above 70% to prevent any issues as well as moving the zip file to your SD card before you do anything else
