The initial reports were 22nd soak, 27th general release.

I am not sure Verizon ever announced a date, just that the update was on its way.

That seems likely. I think I can remember from my D1 days that OS rollouts went in waves of 200,000 or 300,000 per day until all devices were covered. That was then though. It should be only be a 2-4 day push to all phones.

If you buy a razr today will you still be waiting for its esn number to hit the lottery for the update, or are they shipping the new ones with ICS? Curious since I just ordered one from the phone customer service so I can keep my unlimited data for a little while longer.

I doubt that it will have ICS already on it.

So my question is why does verizon tell people its rolling out the 22nd. If the actual update is not coming until a later date.

Because the update began rolling out to people. My sister received it on the 22nd. They will eventually push it to everyone as you already know

The tentative date for the OTA is set for tomorrow according to other threads. If so this will get popping in no time once it finally hits!

While I won't be terribly upset if I don't get ICS tomorrow, I will be irritated if I don't hear that some people are starting to get it. It's been pretty quiet the last few days.
