ICS 230->232. Worth it or Wait?

Oh well maybe I'll root then.

While I'm not telling you that you shouldn't root, if you're not rooted there's a way to calibrate the battery recommended by FoxKat. It's simple, just charge the phone with the power off until completely charged. Then run it down to 15%, which will be when the phone tells you to recharge. Power off and recharge until completely charged.

Trying this out. My phone is at 60%, hard not to turn it on and use it for sure.

Actually, there was an article last spring (still trying to find it again) in which a Google engineer said that resetting the battery stats has absolutely no effect on battery life with any ROM. He also debunked the idea that you had to let a new flash "settle in" before making adjustments or using the device.

I'll edit this post with a link if I can dig it up.

I think the majority of battery problems is due to not resetting battery stats, which is recommended after flashing any new ROM. I make sure that I run my battery into the ground first (pull it, let it sit, then try to boot again just to drain anything that may be left). Then I fully charge *without interruption*. Go into clockwork recover and Wipe Battery stats. Drain it to the ground again with normal usage, *without charging it at all until it dies*, then fully charge again without interruption. After this, you should be good to go with normal usage, including charging when battery is only half full, etc. Works like a charm for me, and I'm getting much better battery life than I ever did on GB.

Wait for eclipse ics. The leaks suck as do the current ROMS based on them. Blur ics is UGLY.

U serious? There's not much blur here and the few additions of blur actually have been nice like the lock screen. I came from a Nexus so i know stock ICS and there isn't to much blur all together. The text message app is about all I'd call ugly but I do agree eclipse will be even nicer. But most people are coming from stock gingerbread which doesn't hold a candle to ICS IMO.
