Icons disappearing with Launcher Pro?

I switched from the stock launcher to Launcher Pro because I had it on a previous phone and liked it. I created folders to put all my apps in but now when I pull up the folders most of the icons are replaced with blue place holder icons. Where did all the icons go? I have rebooted, pulled battery, reset; nothing brings them back. The label is there but the icons are all blue. What gives???

Are you on stock .902 android or on a custom rom? The only thing I can think of is if you have moved apps to sd-ext. That is known to lose apps and icons.
