I want 2.2!!!

Ok so, I am seeing all of this android 2.2 stuff and now i really want it. Right now I am running Android 2.1 update 1. My phone is NOT ROOTED. I am fully aware that I need to root it. So if someone would please first post EXACTLY what i need to do to root my phone. Step by step. There can not be too much detail in your descriptions. And second please post the process on how to get 2.2.

This is How I did it as well. It wasn't easy nor hard. It took me like 2.5hrs to do. This is my first tech advanced phone ever as well.

thats a good thread, I use all droids post with video, made it super easy and the visuals helped. pretty much the same thing heres a link, i personally used jrummys custom kangerade rom, its awesome I highly recommend it

Ok i finally found RSD lite and got it working now whenever i try opening SPRecovery in RSD instead of getting "Connected" with the file properties listed to the right, all i get is Platformed is not defined for CDMA_TYPE-OMAP_CHI... in the status bar. I dont know what this means so im kind of stuck.

Any sugggestions?
