I don't want the entire text conversation to be displayed

Is there a way to make it so that when I am replying to a text message, it doesn't show the whole conversation? I would really like to have the text input box be the only thing on the screen while I am typing, so prying eyes can't read what people send me. Also, ideally I'd rather not have to use a messaging app to do this. Thanks!

Using the landscape on screen keyboard should do the trick. Not sure if there are other solutions.
